Viktor Fülöp (1929-1997).
Danseur et maître de ballet hongrois.
Élève de F. *Nádasi, il étudie à Moscou avec A. *Messerer et Alexandre Lapauri notamment. Il rejoint l'Opéra de *Budapest en 1943, où il devient soliste en 1949. Interprète doté d'un talent d'expression dramatique unique, il danse tous les grands rôles du répertoire, dont le khan Guireï (la *Fontaine de Bakhtchissaraï, 1952, R. *Zakharov), Baltaváry, un rôle de gentilhomme hongrois dans le Chant de Bihari (1954, Ernö Vashegyi), les rôles-titres du *Mandarin merveilleux (1956, G. *Harangozó) et de *Spartacus (1968, L. *Seregi). Souvent invité au *Bolchoï, au *London Festival Ballet et à Vérone notamment, il est une des figures majeures de la danse hongroise de l'après-guerre.

Sofia FUOCO [ndn. BRAMBILLA Maria] (1830-1916).
Danseuse italienne.
Formée à l'École de la *Scala par C. *Blasis, dont elle est une des Pléiades, elle débute dans ce théâtre, sous son nom d'artiste, comme prima ballerina en 1843, se distinguant immédiatement par son tempérament brillant et la force de ses pointes qui lui valent d'être surnommée " la pointue ". En 1846, elle fait ses débuts à l'Opéra de *Paris dans Betty ou la Jeunesse d'Henry V (*Mazilier) et impressionne fortement T. *Gautier par sa précision et sa rapidité d'exécution, ainsi que par l'originalité de son style qui n'est comparable à celui d'aucune autre des grandes étoiles romantiques qui l'ont précédée sur la scène parisienne. De 1846 à 1848, elle se produit à Londres au Drury Lane et au Covent Garden, ainsi qu'à Madrid, Barcelone et Paris. Dans les années 1850, elle danse dans de nombreux théâtres italiens. Ses dispositions naturelles la conduisent notamment à interpréter le rôle titre de *Catarina, l'un des préférés du public italien.

Danseuse, chorégraphe et pédagogue italienne.
Elle débute dans la compagnie de S. *Egri après avoir été son élève. Prima ballerina du *Teatro Regio de Turin, elle danse dans le divertissement des Vêpres siciliennes (S. *Lifar) pour l'inauguration du nouveau théâtre en 1973. Elle prend ensuite la direction du ballet du Teatro Nuovo puis celle du Teatro di Regio en 1983.

Formée par M. *Terpis et Tamara Rauser, elle est cabaretiste, puis soliste à Königsberg, Wuppertal et à l'Opéra-Comique de Berlin-Est, avant de poursuivre une brillante carrière de *maître de ballet à Oberhausen (1961-1964), Münster (1964-1966), Cologne (1966-1969), Krefeld (1971-1974) et Hanovre (1974 -1976). Nocturno (mus. M. *De Falla, 1962), 'Adame Miroir (mus. D. *Milhaud, 1964), Lettre intime (mus. L. *Janáček, 1968) comptent parmi ses chorégraphies de référence.

Danseuse, chorégraphe, pédagogue et thérapeute argentine.
Elle se produit partout dans son pays, du *Teatro Colón jusque dans les espaces les moins conventionnels, avec ses récitals de solos au style et au message novateurs. Elle crée une méthode de danse-thérapie qui met l'accent sur la dimension artistique dans le travail avec les handicapés et implante des centres de danse-thérapie portant son nom en Italie (Florence et Milan) et en Espagne (Madrid). Son vaste parcours la conduit d'Amérique latine aux États-Unis en Europe et en Israël.

Poète dramatique et lyrique français.
Auteur très fécond (il écrit plus de deux cents pièces pour le théâtre et l'opéra), protégé par le cardinal de Fleury, il est codirecteur du Mercure de France avec Jean de La Bruyère à partir de 1744. Il écrit les livrets de nombreux ouvrages lyriques, parmi lesquels les Amours déguisés (1713, mus. Thomas Bourgeois), les Âges (1718, mus. A. *Campra), la Reine des Péris (1725, « comédie persane », mus. Jacques Aubert), les Amours des dieux (1727, mus. J.-J. *Mouret), les Amours des déesses (1729, mus. Jean-Baptiste Quinault), les *Indes galantes (1735, mus. J.-Ph. *Rameau), Phaétuse (1759, mus. Iso). Dans ses avertissements et préfaces, il aborde de façon systématique la question de l'introduction du comique et d'une forme de vraisemblance naturelle.
