Homme d'affaires américain (Rodman, New York, 1852-Glen Cove, New York, 1919).

Il créa en 1879 son premier magasin populaire (à Utica). Il multiplia ensuite ce type de boutique aux États-Unis, au Canada et en Angleterre.
