« It may be that I was probably born with a sense of drama, because I would tend to dramatise things. And at college the method punishment was rather a dramatic thing, I felt. That if one had not done one’s prep, the form master would say ‘Go for three’ or ‘Going for three.’ That was the sentence, and it was a sentence as though it were spoken by a judge. »

« Il se peut que je sois né avec le sens du drame, parce que j'ai plutôt tendance à dramatiser. Et au collège, les méthodes de punition étaient plutôt dramatiques, à mon sens. Si quelqu'un n'avait pas fait ses devoirs, le maître disait « Allons-y pour trois » ou « Ce sera trois ». C'était la sentence, et c'était la même sentence que si elle avait été prononcée par un juge. »
