« the whole idea of the expedition - it’s a very big expedition, and I think it seems to be a very well organized one - the idea is to try and get at least two men to the top. The whole plan is that there are going to be three assault groups, composed of two climbers each, and the whole mass of men and equipment is there to get these men into a position to have a crack at the summit. Well, if the first team that has a go fails, well then the next one has a go, and so on. And let’s hope that at least one of the three parties will reach the top. It is hoped to establish a small camp within about 1500 feet of the top. »
